The bichromate/sulphuric cleaner is for developer stains in trays etc. That might stain clothes no? Fortunately I still have some here (kodak and mohr brands) and it IS reusable for any out there who might make it. Eventually it loses it's cleaning ability but there's no need to use and dump it. The Mohr Fixer cleaner I have for their processor lists sod. hydroxide. ________________________________ From: Richard Knoppow <dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Mon, November 9, 2009 3:45:04 PM Subject: [pure-silver] Re: Fixer Stain Removal If the bottles have crystalized hypo try ammonia or even just plain hot water. The old TC-1, a bichromate and sulfuric acid cleaner used to be the standard for laboratory glassware and trays. Like a lot of other useful solutions its not available anymore due to environmental considerations. However, bichromate is used in a number of alternative photographic processes so is obtainable and sulfuric acid is, I think, a staple at swimming pool supply stores. -- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
