Sometimes the pharmacy had a darkroom in the back, regular old
darkroom, and someone came in the evenings to do the processing.
Sometimes it was the pharmacist. It wasn't unusual for drug
stores to have large photographic counters. As recently as the
late 70's a drugstore in Sauk Center (? or some other small town)
in Minnesota was a full line Leica dealer.

Subject: [pure-silver] "Drugstore" BW Prints
Do any of you know how "drugstore" black and white snapshot prints were
made?
I'm curious about how the framing, focus, exposure time, and contrast
control (if any) was handled?
All automated, or was an operator involved?
Thank you,
-Harlan
