Keith, I can answer some of them and speculate on others. 1. yes you can use standard cdr blanks. However, although you can play non daisy mp3 files stored on a CDr on the ptr2 you need to understand that any mp3 recordings made on the ptr2 will be in daisy format. You can always pull the resulting mp3 files out using a computer but they will always be saved with the daisy housekeeping files in a folder. One for each title. 2. forward and rewind certainly work for daisy mp3. I have never actually listened to a straight up mp3 file but I expect it is the same. 3. yes direct access album track navagation works well 4. anything recorded to cf on the plextalk can be copied to cdr or cd audio depending on its format and orgin. I have never attempted this with files put on a cf card from another rsource. 5. yes, I am currently using 8gb and 16gb cf cards 6. audio quality of the speaker is very good. Not excellent with lost of lows and highs but voices sound clear and warm and music is listenable although not very loud. -----Original Message----- From: ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Keith Bucher Sent: Sunday, May 25, 2008 9:43 PM To: ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: PTR2 Questions Hello, I am considering purchasing a PTR2, and I have a few questions. 1. If I record in MP3 format, can I use regular computer CDS? From what I have read, the only time I am required to use music CDS is when I record in wave format. 2. If I am listening to MP3 files, does the fast forward and rewind work the same way it does when listening to a daisy book? 3. I believe the manual says that when listening to a music CD you can go directly to a particular track by using its number. For example, if you want to listen to track 18. Does this work well? 4. If for some reason, my computer isn't available or isn't close at hand, can I copy files from a CF card to a regular computer CD using the PTR2? 5. The manual doesn't refer to any card size larger than 2GB. Is this the maximum card size? 6. I know it's difficult to describe sound, but how would you describe the audio of the internal speaker? For example, how does it compare to our NLS C-1 players? Thanks to everyone in advance for any information.
