Thanks for your responses. Looks like I am pretty clueless here. Did you
say I have to use software??
On my XP computer, I just put the CD in the drive and dragged and dropped
the files to it using Windows Explorer. When I clicked "eject", Windows
asked if I wanted to save my files as a music CD or a data CD. I clicked
"data".
On my Win98 computer, I had similar results, but in that case I ran "Direct
CD" while dragging and dropping the files with windows explorer.
Are the methods I used only for computer backups? Do I need some software
for putting files on a CD for use by Plextalk?

CD-ROM burning software sometimes comes with a quick create function. This
may include a drag and drop feature, which makes the burning process look
like just copying to another drive. This is windows specific CDs and may not
even work from one Windows machine to another. I don't even know why the
heck this feature is put in. I suspect you may have used this.
Try it again and make sure you are doing a CD-ROM for sharing. Select the
Joliet character and file names, which is probably the default.
Use mode 1 and finalize the CD.
If this does not fix it, I don't know what the problem is.
