Hi all

See what you think of this text. is it too waffly, do you think? Bear in mind,
we originally contacted him in 2001, so I felt the need to explain why it's
taken so long. >_<

I've had a bit of feedback querying the sentence "Now we have finally turned in an error-free (we hope!) version of each of the Grey Star books, we are in a position where we would certainly be interested in making such works available, if you are still amenable to it." Does that sound as though I'm being disparaging about his original writing?

Aside from that, unless anyone else has any comments, this is probably the message that will be sent to Ian.

Dear Mr Page

I am writing to you on behalf of Project Aon, a voluntary online group who are
republishing the Lone Wolf adventures online. We contacted you some time ago
with regard to the "World of Lone Wolf" (aka Grey Star) adventures you wrote. It
was always our intention to contact you again once the books had been made
available; however several snags occurred that caused us some major delays in
doing so.

We initially had a great deal of trouble contacting the illustrator Paul Bonner,
and because of this, the first three Grey Star books we released were missing
all his illustrations. Once we had contacted him and received his approval, we
revisited these three books to add in his artwork before tackling Book 4: War of
the Wizards. By the time we had published War of the Wizards, a large number of
problems had been reported with the first three books, some of which could also
be applied to Book 4, so we had to almost immediately go back and revisit them
to fix these major problems. Add in a complete redesign of the website, and that
adds up to a lot of time. It has now been some months since we were forced to do
this, and there have been no more problems reported, so we thought it was now
time to contact you regarding the four books.

The links to the four books are here:

2. The Forbidden City

3. Beyond the Nightmare Gate

4. War of the Wizards:

At some point in the future we also hope to make PDF editions of these books
available.

In your original E-mail to us, you mentioned that you had original, unpublished
works of both Grey Star and the Shianti, and also other fantasy-themed fiction,
that you were interested in sending us copies of to make available on the site.
Now we have finally turned in an error-free (we hope!) version of each of the
Grey Star books, we are in a position where we would certainly be interested in
making such works available, if you are still amenable to it. (We also took the
liberty of reproducing "The Passing of the Shianti" you wrote for a Lone Wolf
Club Newsletter after Section 360 of War of the Wizards, and this brought
considerable interest from Lone Wolf fans around the world.)

If you still feel you would like us to make such work available, please contact
Project Aon via the website <http://www.projectaon.org/en/Main/Contact> or mail
me direct at this E-mail address, and we can try to hammer out the details.

Once again, on behalf of Project Aon, thank you for your generosity in allowing
your work to be made available.

Kind regards,

--
