or a virtual machine that can run it, smile you may be able to find a work around in that arena?

I would replay this on a somehow diferent basis. If one can't update its system may be because they have no money or because the machine is a little old ... or perhaps due to any other thing I have no knowledge or I have no way of controlling anyways ... unless the "one" sited is me, which isn't the case. I would say the following: I recall reading somewhere that symbian apps can be compiled using gcc, which would run without problems under windows ME. Please see if you can get this reference. However, compiling isn't the only part of programming utilities, you're likely to have to use an emulator to try running the app or perhaps to be able to debug it. May be that these emulators need some more advansed resources to run than win me can provide. I recomend you join a symbian developement phorum where you can expose your situation and listen to what experts have to say to you about this. If, however, the symbian site says that a requirement is windows 2k or latter I fear you won't have other options but installing one of the systems required. hth Marlon 2007/11/16, Chris Hallsworth <christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:Hmm, I don't understand? You're *not allowed* to upgrade from Windows Me? Ahwell. I'm wondering if there is a way to run a command line type of sdk, or do all sdk's have to run in windows?I'm looking for an alternate way of using the symbian sdk, because as I shamefully admitted before, this computer is running windows ME, and I am not allowed to upgrade it. So far, the symbian sdk I've come across onnokia's web site, says I must use xp, 2000, nt, or vista. Please forgive myignorance on this, being my only real experience with programming is web stuff, which I've been able to accomplish on older machines by using external resources via the web. With All Respect, Upshaw, LaMar T-- When you say "I wrote a program that crashed Windows," people just stare at you blankly and say "Hey, I got those with the system, for free."
