Drupal Permissions Help

Hi,

I'm having trouble allowing my anonymous users permission to see a friendly
access denied page. Here's what I did.

 

I made sure that the access node check box was unchecked for anonymous
users.

I created a test page.

 

When I log out as the administrator, I'm effectively an anonymous user. I
get the usual unfriendly access denied error. 

 

I see no setting to deny access to specific content types such as pages,
stories, books, or blog entries. 

 

What am I missing here?
