I thought that someone wrote last week that a fresh install can be done with an
upgrade disk?
I have an older computer that I want to put in my shop to store some files on.
I previously had win 95 and did an upgrade to win98SE. Today I decided that I
would do a format of C and reinstall. When I got booted up and I used the win
98SE upgrade disk, it made me still use my win 95 disks first (which
fortunately I still have) then it continued with the win 98SE install. Is this
normal or is there a way around having to do a double install like that. I have
other win 98 disks that are not upgrades but I am using them on other computers.
I used a floppy win 98 setup disk to boot with, is this where I went wrong. I
also have the Dos 6.2 setup disk that I think I used a few years ago when win
3.1x and 95 was still around strong.
