This brings up a problem I'm having....I have Win95 and want to upgrade but it will not let me use the full version of Win 98. It says I'm required to remove a previous version of windows but I thought I remember someone telling me some time ago that you can install a new full version of Windows over the top of any older one. Seems like I did this before with no problem. How does one go about this if Win95 won't let you do this? I have the full version of Win 98 and SE. Madeleine I thought that someone wrote last week that a fresh install can be done with an upgrade disk? I have an older computer that I want to put in my shop to store some files on. I previously had win 95 and did an upgrade to win98SE. Today I decided that I would do a format of C and reinstall. When I got booted up and I used the win 98SE upgrade disk, it made me still use my win 95 disks first (which fortunately I still have) then it continued with the win 98SE install. Is this normal or is there a way around having to do a double install like that. I have other win 98 disks that are not upgrades but I am using them on other computers. I used a floppy win 98 setup disk to boot with, is this where I went wrong. I also have the Dos 6.2 setup disk that I think I used a few years ago when win 3.1x and 95 was still around strong.
