I'm running XP Media Center 2005 with all updates done.
There was a thunderstorm yesterday so I turned off my machine. This morning
when I turned it on, everything was ok until after I logged in. Then no matter
what I clicked on, the menu, the taskbar or any folder the machine completely
locked up, alt-ctrl-del, didn't even work, I had to
turn the machine off manually, restarted and the same thing. Went into safe
mode and did ckdisk
and tried again, same thing. It's only on my user name, but that's where all
my info is, I'm using my daughter's user account to get on here to ask.
Anybody have any ideas or possible fixes?
I'm running an av scan now with zone alarm, but don't viruses affect every
user, not just one?
