That's really all weird, to be honest with you. Here's another thing you may
want to try (if you're on dial-up this won't work). Try starting up the
computer in SAFE MODE, and then seeing if you can download the manual
correctly, and if the other flash page loads up fine.

|   Hello Troth,
|   I downloaded Flash and the websites are working fine now. There is still
one problem thou.....
|   I also downloaded the Shockwave manual but I can't get it to install, that
I find very strange. It goes till 25%.
|   Somewhere there must be a mistake going on because when I visit the
Macromedia site "Macromedia Test Shockwave and Flashplayers" this site freezes
up again.
|   When I go to the sole page for test Flashplayer it says: Flashplayer
installed successful and it does not freeze anymore.
|   sylvia....holland.
|   Thank you for coming back on this Troth,
|   I did all the things you wrote on here, but nothing. As soon as I click on
'download' at the Macromedia site it freezes up.
|   Yesterday I went through the troubleshooting from Macromedia and went
through all the options and the only thing that is left that I can do is
download 'flash' manual.
|   I got to walk my dogs now.............and it is raining and storming
here!!!! (ugh)
|   As soon as I come back and dryed up -:)) I'll try and download it manual.
|   sylvia.

| Don't remember if you said you were running a firewall. If so, also try
turning it off temporarily just to see if it makes a difference.
| With the Internet options, open IE, then do TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS. This is
just temporary, so do not freak out. Go to the security tab and for each the
INTERNET and TRUSTED SITES zone move the slider all the way to the bottom. Then
hit APPLY and then move to the PRIVACY tab. There, move the slider as well to
the bottom to ACCEPT ALL COOKIES. No, it will not need to be this way to access
those sites, as I sure as hell don;t have them like this and can access the
sites fine. But, we just want to do this temporary, and also while you download
the flash from Macromedia.
|
| After you get all this done, try it again.
