milady, I know that. I was talking out of over 5 years experience on 2 different computers though. I know that don't make it always bad. Anything can get better. It's just that during the 5 years I had earthlink, I had nothing but trouble with it. Why is beyond me because earthlink is not a new provider exactly, but it sure had it's problems. After a while I got charter and have had it for about 6 years now and simply love it. In my opinion, charter is even better then DSL and I've had both. However, I do realize there are "lemons" in just about everything. If you have good luck with earthlink, then that's great. I just can't say that.
