It is my understanding that Microsoft will not send an email concerning updates. There may be other organizations and companies that you can sign up for to get an aleert about Microsoft updates. Use the Microsoft update site and aftere scanning, if there are none available for your system there are not any available. If there are updates available you can read about them and deciede if you want them on your system. Dave ------------------------------ From: "Faythe & Al" <rem41mag@xxxxxxxxxx> Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- does anyone know ??? Date: Wed, 20 Aug 2003 20:59:48 -0500 I received both these 'critical updates & revised editions' today ... I went to the MS update site & neither of these were listed. ( see below) My question is, because of the spoofing ( if correct term) of email addys, are these really from microsoft & do I need to install them? I currently run OS M.E. ( and get enough grief from that, I don't want to invite more) and I am not in a position to get a new computer. thanks in advance, Faythe To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
