Check to make sure the computer sees your dial-up modem. Sounds like it isn't installed or the driver might be corrupt. You can go to Control Panel > Modems and see if it is listed in there, or System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modem. Yesterday, the electricity went off, came on and went off again. It messed my system up and since I couldn't get it straightened out, I used the CD that came with the system and "upgraded" as it suggested. Now, I can't set up a dial-up connection. When I use the wizard, the only option I have is Broadband which I don't have. :) I've tried going to the Administration and starting the Remote Access Connection Manager but keep getting an Error 711. Can someone tell me HOW to get a dial-up connection set up? I don't remember having any problems when I set it up the first time. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
