So don't use it.  In fact get a stand alone email program like 
Thunderbird.  I used Netscape mail back in 97 but  soon switched to 
Eudora.   I'm sure MS will find a way to stick that 'improvement' in the 
their automatic updates (so don't use that feature or afterward uninstall 
it).  But you really need to back up all your emails in safe place before 
MS overwrites OE.
