Dorie... if the problem you're having is what's in the nixsoftware.com
screenshots, then try this...

Right-click on the desktop and select PROPERTIES. Click on the DESKTOP tab.
Click CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP on the bottom. Click on the WEB tab. On the bottom,
where it says LOCK DESKTOP ITEMS, is it checked? If it is, that's what's
causing the box around the icon titles. Uncheck it, hit OK and then APPLY
then OK again. Assuming this is the problem, it should now be rectified.

Let me know if it cleared it, as I am still researching.

My icons have a colored box around them.
I am trying to get the colored box to show up only when I click on 
them...NOT there all the time like it is right now.
