Jan,
    In addition to what Don has already said, I'm really curious as to the 
size the file you're trying to add to the email.  It could very well be that 
your scanning program is set to save it at too high a resolution.  Also, 
what program are you using to accept these scans?  I can assume that it's 
the one that came with the scanner, but I'm sure you know what they say 
about assumptions.      lol

    I'd also like to point out that, assuming you're able to get the image 
down to a more reasonable size, one should never send larger attachments 
(anything over 250KB) without first warning the recipient first.  Some folks 
still pay by the hour for their internet time and a huge post could really 
get them steamed.          :O)
