That would have been me! Sorry to hear it's not been sorted by Maplins yet,
Barry.
Just so folks know, I've suggested to Barry that he tells Maplins to return
the machine to the condition it was in prior to him taking it in there, and
that he wants a full refund. Maplins is a good shop, they are kind of like
Tandy (radio shack) but it's not a place I'd ever consider using for any
kind of computer repair-Their 'Techs' might well be a dab hand with radio
parts and a solering iron, but not so hot on PC's. You seem to be this
guy's 'guinea pig' and you are paying top dollar for the priviledge!!
Still think that's your best way forward Barry-In city like Belfast there
will be lots of small computer shops/specialists, and in all liklihood, if
you check out the local newspaper or yellow pages, you'll find some that
will come to you.
