Well, I botched that one.  I mixed up your two separate issues when replying 
about Firefox.     lol

I should have asked whether or not you have the All-In-One Sidebar 
installed.  It has a mechanism for opening specific sites in the sidebar. 
It can be undone, but it all depends on whether that one is installed.
