Most fan noises I am called to investigate turn out to be a wire or cable 
that migrated into the path of a fan.  If the tower was moved for any of 
your unplugging, this becomes even more likely.  However, I am concerned 
about your wording, Sandi.  It sounds like you waited until AFTER the power 
went out to unplug everything.  Was the system still operating when the 
thunderstorm hit &/or when the power went down?
