If you're planning to buy an inexpensive PC do think about looking at
Gateway's eMachines line. I have an under $500 eMachines PC with 1G of mem,
130GB hard drive, a CD-DVD RW system, 5 USB 2.0 ports, and 2.8 processing
speed (I think). I use this with an inexpensive 160GB external hard drive
for backup purposes. This system performs flawlessly with WinXP and basic
DSL, and does everything I want it to, including excellent video streaming,
fast downloading, and efficient handling of Photoshop
Of course I am not a rabid gamer and so do not need all the hi-tech stuff.
If it plays cards and checkers and shoots a game of billiards with me, I'm
content... ">})
