Microsoft quit shipping updates to WinXP over 6 months ago.
The recent updates had to be for something else.

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Is MS sabotaging Open Office now?

All along I could open docx files using Open Office Writer,
as my MS Word97 prog didn't recognize them... But I guess I
made the damn fool mistake of downloading some recent MS
WinXP updates w/o checking out each one individually to see
what MS was up to?
Because ever since that last WinXP update, Open Office
crashes every time I try to open a docx file! Sent an error
report to Open Office but have not heard anything back from
them......
