In general, you need the 80wire-40pin cable. That would be the one that's blue 
at the end that goes into the controller (the motherboard). But, I believe its 
backward compatable, and the older cable can still be used. I think the burst 
speed would be affected, but that's not going to be noticeable to you, in terms 
of speed.

  Are there different  IDE cables for ATA 133 hard drives than ATA 66/100?

  Reason I ask is that I've got an 80gb ATA 133 drive as my master and 20gb
  ATA 100 as it's slave, and I'm using the same cable I had when I had the
  20mb drive as the master and an 8gb ATA 100 as the slave.
