If you have the message set at Rich Text and the font colour and size are
greyed out, just click on the white message area and it turns on again. If
you are set for Plain Text you don´t have that option!

I double checked and it's set...certain mail that comes in that is
stationery always causes that to go blank..I then have to change it either
by going into format and going to plain text, or going to the color section
of fonts and reset it...phtttt.

ML,
Have you ever set the color you want inside the Tools > Options >
Compose > Font Settings area? If it's not set in there, it'll never
remember to use it each time.
