Hi GMan, Well the computer got its new mother board and it seems to be doing ok. We had to go to the shop today to get them to fix some wiring..and now we think all is well. It is nice to have a warranty..and have them know you when you walk in the dept. They know I know a little about computers and feel they can convey the messages to me..and I am glad they do not think they can BS me (too much). I make them explain everything and ask questions...so they are prepared for me... ha! ha! I am formatting new serial drives in the computer as we speak. I guess I am ready now..to get back to the organizing of my computer. There is an update though. The new computer came with a 400 GB hard drive... And I have two additional 500 GB internal drives. (I am formatting one as I write this.) I will be eliminating some of the externals I reckon.. (some will go to Jerry and I think maybe to my sons. It all depends on what we all decide. The 500 GB serial hard drives were $99 each..no rebates. My computer is set up for raid if you think that is a better idea. Both the 500 GB drives are 7200 RPM and 16 MB. I still have to copy my second drive from my old computer to this one as that is the one with where all the programs installed. I know I will have to reinstall them, but I will have the file structure in place and that will make my life easier. I will not have to create hundreds of new folders. So, depending upon your schedule... we can tackle this....IF you like..... Let me know.... Rose Las Vegas By the way.. YES..it is VERY HOT here. It has been in the one teens (110-116 degrees) all week! It is going to cool down to 108 next week. It is too early to be this hot. 117 is the highest recorded record in Las Vegas. I fear that will be broken this year. It was 119 on our (covered) back patio yesterday. Thank God we have good air-conditioning.
