As of today, the list of undesirable IPs stood at 2036 (more than one for every year of the millennium). They represent all sorts of miscreants, many of which are bots unknown to the owners of machines they operate on. Several networks have been catalogued until they either stopped attacking or simply ran out of nodes, which makes them highly exposed to public scrutiny. I tried to persuade the staff at www.whois.sc to contact the owners and inform them of the matter so as to clean their systems, but they declined. If anyone has suggestions about how to (or whether to) do that, please write in.
