A social worker either at the hospital or elsewhere may be able to put you in
touch with someone who can help you pack up your things. Darn it, in
sacramento, there were people one could hire to help you pack for a move, which
is just what I did in preparations to moving to Ohio. Maybe they might be
called something Like Merry Maids or something like that, but I suspect New York
would have something like that. It has everything else.

Well I hope they set this up right. I just want to get this done and over with.
I want to be able to get back to some form of normal. And I did tell Dr. Gordon
no nursing home. And I was very emphatic about that too. So I don't know whether
I'll get help with packing and stuff yet. I have no idea. When I told the
president of our tenants Association I needed help with it she got all nasty and
told me to find a friend to do it because she has family. So basically that was
the response I got.

Hi Kathleen,
For several years, whenever Linda Terrell neededsurgical aftercare, I took
of her. She always had a social worker take her to and from the hospital, notfor
necessarily the same person each time, but arrangements were made so that she
didn't have to have anyone like a sighted friend take off work in order to get
her to the hospital. I'm almost certain the hospital will set something up
you and get you where you need to go at the time you need to be there. They'll
also see that you get home, and will probably arrange for a home health nurseI
should you need one. They've got social workers in hospitals whose jobs it is
to help people who don't have nearby family members to be with them.

Subject: [ourplace] Re: Suddenly Having Problems Doing Basic Gestures With
I-Phone
Linda I have the 5S. This is my second 5S. The first one had to be replaced
because the battery was going to explode. I can't believe Best Buy sold me a
defective phone but at least Apple help me out. Usually when I want to contact
asked Siri to find it. Yes I could probably go from one to the other the wayyou
want to but I just do with the lazy way I guess. But I need my iPhone foremail.
Well it's supposed to pour rain and be very windy tomorrow. I'm not lookingone
forward to that. Not really. Because I have to go to therapy. You'll probably
get soaked. And umbrella won't help all that much either. Plus where I have to
wait for buses there's no shelter yuck. That's just how that goes. And this
guy for my ham club wants my old computer monitor I don't need. So we supposedwant
to come over to get it. But I'm going to tell him if you can't be here by
quarter after two or before then early by two I'm just gonna leave. I don't
to be late for this appointment. And he has agoing
tendency not to show up on time either. And when he calls me tomorrow I'm
to tell him that. I don't know why he decided to do this tomorrow. I saidcan't
you do it Thursday and he said he had other things to do. But I mean he couldthis
probably do this Thursday if we wanted to but oh well. Anyway let's put it
way Monday I hope I can go to the doctor. Then I can get the surgery scheduledit
and everything set up. But my friend Todd that's the guy who wants to come and
get the computer told me that if I don't have somebody to bring me home after
the surgery they won't let me go. And I told him I said well I may not have a
sighted person. To go with me. So that's basically how that goes. And I talked
to one of my neighbors in the building and she said go to the hospital likes
or not they'll have to provide you transportation home. Oh yeah I bet they'llsee
really love setting that up. Plus we have to set up the home care. So let's
how this goes and see if your rocker shein
can work which I hope it will because I really would want it to. But that's
basically how that goes also saying we might get a storm next week I'll boy.

Hi All,
I was talking to my friend Gina about this. Like me, she has an I-Phone 5,
I don't think she's upgraded to I-OS 9 point anything. I've updated to 9.3,and
I've noticed when I try to move through my contacts list, even though I'musing
the familiar page-up gesture, I'm getting a beep sound and the word"refreshing"
a lot, and the page isn't moving up. Seems to me that as they're updating, some
of the more basic functions are becoming more difficult to do, and I don'tknow
why this has to be that way. I'm so annoyed that when my contract runs out
doAugust, I'm thinking about going back to a regular flip phone as I've neverused
Blind Square, and only occasionally use the KNFB Reader and money talker.I've
gotten another manual bill readingmachine which is in my purse at all times.
