Scarey, Vickie. Sounds as though you did the right thing in selling it to the
young lady, especially since she gave you money in cash. That guy could have
bounced a check and could have been a total mental case or dishonest. Glad you
didn’t exchange paperwork with him. Also glad Duane has a gun in this
situation. Usually I’m leary of people carrying guns and the like, but in this
case, sounds as though you really needed to have one at hand. I’m sorry things
were so frightening yesterday. Glad you got it sold, though, and I know what a
good feeling it is to get a credit card paid off.

Subject: [ourplace] Sold trailer etc.
Well, as you can see by the subject line, yes, we did sell it, and for more
money than the first guy offered. Even after Duane took a cash deposit,
another party wanted to pay $500 more and asked Duane to give back their money,
so that he could have it. But Duane stuck to his promise to sell it to the
young lady who gave him the money. So, we could have sold it for more. But
God blessed us with total cash. There was a gentleman who looked at it in
detail and wanted it, and said he would come and give us a check. So, we
mistakenly gave him our lot number here in the park. So, after Duane accepted
the cash from the lady, all of a sudden he shows up and I guess he was upset.
He remarked before he left, well I know where you live. But we waited over
two hours for him to stop by with a check for $200 which he already told me
wouldn’t cash if we tried. So, even after the rest of the money was paid by
the young lady about 6:00 p.m. the guy who was mad kept sending Duane text
messages. So, after the title was exchanged, they immediately took the trailer
away in fear that the mad guy might come and break the windows out of it, or
something. Oh well. Hope nothing comes of it. He hasn’t came around yet, so
I doubt he will. He did see that Duane was carrying a gun, even when we showed
the trailer to him. So, I really don’t think he’ll do anything. Just verbal
threats. He hasn’t texted today, just yesterday. So, Duane and I went over to
the restaurant on this property and had a steak dinner which we split, since
we’re not eating that much, loosing weight. So, anyway, now I can pay off the
credit card I put our washer and dryer and dressers we bought. That’ll be such
a good feeling.

We’ve had a second travel trailer for a long time. We’ve kept it in storage
here on the property where we are now. We’ve been paying $40 a month to keep
it there. Lately we’ve used it as storage for things that were in our truck.
We thought the truck was going to be repaired, so we put all the things in the
rear of the truck in the trailer. Well, today we put it up for sale after
emptying it out, about 9 o’clock this morning. We came back home and made
breakfast. Noticed a ding went off on Duane’s phone. He had missed a call. So
called them back and they made an offer. This was 45 minutes after we put it
out by the Shell sign at the store/gas station where the manager told us to sit
it. The guy said he wants to pick it up tomorrow if his money for a loan he’s
applying for comes through. So, right now we are on cloud 9. We praised God
immediately and I’m praying everything will go through so they can pick it up
as planned. What a relief. Didn’t want to move it to the new property. So,
we’re asking a very low price. If it works out, though, it will pay for the
new washer and dryer we just purchased for the new home, on a high interest
credit card. So, yay! I just hope we’re not disappointed come tomorrow. I
probably should have waited to mention it, but it’s just too cool. Never
thought it would happen so soon.
