Nearly forgot another one.  MySQL doesn't even try to be ANSI
compliant in data types.  Porting apps to or from it can be
nightmarish, especially porting from where the original developer was
kazy and just set all non-key text fields to MEMO (similar to a LONG
in Oracle).
