Which SID is your import ?
Look at the program names in v$session to find out,
and then use Tom Kyte's print_table routine to print
up the single row from v$session_wait that might be
relevant.
How do you know that you are "hanging" - if you've
done an import that needs to create a lot of indexes
and it's doing it on parallel-enabled tables, maybe
the display has stopped but the machine is busy.

wait event, or I'm querying the wrong t able.
