I wouldn't want to run Solaris 9 and Solaris 10 boxes in the same cluster
indefinitely, however, I think it's a reasonable thing to do, for the purposes
of a rolling upgrade.
In fact, Oracle says it's supported, in Doc ID 220970.1:
"The Oracle Clusterware and Oracle Real Application Clusters both support
rolling upgrades of the OS softwarewhen the version of the Oracle Database is
certified on both releases of the OS (and the OS is the same, no Linux and
Windows or AIX and Solaris, or 32 and 64 bit etc.). This can apply a patch to
the operating system, a patchset (such as EL4u4 to EL4u6) or a release (EL4 to
EL5). Stay within a 24 hours of upgrade window and fully test this path as it's
not possible for Oracle to test all these different paths and combinations. "

I asked because I saw someone posted on a metalink forum that it is possible.
Thread: "Oracle 10g RAC to 11g RAC Upgrade on Solaris". My gut feeling is that
it is not possible but I would have to test it out... so short of actually
doing it, I wanted to know if anyone on the list ever did it before.

All nodes in RAC should have same OS, you can not have one node running on 9
and another on 10.
