I imagine it will be safe until APPS is replaced by fusion stuff. Apps
autoconfig uses this, and is likely the reason it exists.

At 10g, the reference manual has a section on IFILE and it makes no
mention of desupport. There is also no mention of desupport in the
reference manual for 11.2. So it looks pretty safe.....(Famous last
