Personal opinion:

There are lots of things in the optimizer that are
fixed in 10.1 - so the optimizer is more rational
than the 8 and 9 optimizers.

I wouldn't migrate from 9 to 10 on that basis,
though, but I would seriously consider going
from 8 to 10 if I had a 'basic' system and was
being pushed to upgrade.

Subject: Oracle 10

: Curious on what the crowd feels about Version 10.
:
: We are currently on 8.1.7.4. When we upgrade, should we even worry about
: Version 9 ? Or just skip directly to the latest 10 ? Is it stable ?
Any
: major issues that folks are waiting on getting fixed ?
:
: Thanks for any insight.
