Fadi,

Am i understood correctly that in order to install a Apps patch
(uXXXX.drv) you need to do it in two places?
- Once for CM located on DB host
- Another one for Apps server

Can you confirm that $FND_TOP/bin/FNDLIBR executable located only on
DB/CR installation?

Just wonder what was your reasons to keep CR on the same server as DB?
How big overhead it introduces in you maintenance?
Do you find this configuration confortable for you as APPS DBA?
Are there any negative part of usinf that type of config?

Thank you in advance,
Yury

Hi everyone,
My prod configugration is the same as my test configuration it is as
follow

============================
CONFIG:
============================
DB OS = HP-UX 11.23
DB ver = 9.2.0.6
DB cfg = 1 node
DB & APPS relationship = Split (db located on separate Server then Apps
Servers
STORAGE = HP SAN
Also this node the database node has the APPS CM = CM (Concurrent
Managers) with it

APPS OS = HP-UX 11.23
APPS cfg = 1 nodes
STORAGE = HP SAN
This node include forms, reports and web server.

Of course we have 2 standby servers that are ready to read the
configurations from the HP SAN incase the production servers went down.

Thanks
Fadi

Subject: What is your Apps configuration/topology?

Hello everyone,

Just read through new post in Steave Chan BLOG "10gR2 Database Split
Configurations for Release 11i"
http://blogs.oracle.com/schan/2006/06/28#a376

In that context I have got the following question:
- How many Oracle shops using "Split" configuration ?
- How many use "Shared APPL_TOP" configuration ?
- How many of us use separate APPL_TOP for each APPS host involved in
PROD env executing
- How many of us keep CM tier on the same server as DB executed?

Just wonder if we can make a short survey other here (in the list).
Please find description of two enterprise configuration that I
currently working with.
Feel free to copy my Q&A and share your configuration with rest of us.

Thank you in advance,
