Depends on how high the mountain is where the transmitter and tower are 
located.
Check out: Salt Lake City, Denver, Colorado Springs, the Sutro Tower in 
San Francisco
and Mt. Washington, New Hampshire. All areas where TV is broadcast from 
a mountain side or top
to the surrounding areas.
If you happen to live on the side of a mountain, the correct side,
even if you are a fair distance away, you will receive the signal.
