The real benefit of data broadcasting comes from the ability to 
integrate with other two-way components of the Internet. DTV can 
become a fat pipe to push bits that are designed to be consumed by 
the masses; this has the potential to significantly reduce traffic on 
the two-way nets, which  can be stressed by serving the same streams 
to millions of users.

But we've been through all of this many times before.
