The iPhone is even more walled, in the sense that only one cellco sells it in 
the US (still). However, according to the article I posted recently, Android 
seems to be giving it a run for its money.

But hey, there's nothing unusual, especially in the US, about walled garden 
products having great success, is there? Just look at TV program distribution.

In the handheld toy category, most products ARE, in fact, cloistered within 
walled gardens. That's what makes ATSC M/H such a difficult proposition.

I get the impression you find a need to deny the "walled garden" label on 
products you like. How odd. Something about "quacks like a duck ..."
