While on the topic of new DVD standards, can anybody tell me if there will be imposed an idiotic, unnecessary and entirely unfair regional system for these new HD pre-recorded discs. I am saying this because I come from the forth "world"(region)area, which does not get many of the DVDs you in the USA get, even after the original movie has been released in theatres for years. An example is "The Mission", which even now I had to import from region 2. You have had this release on DVD for how long? We show it and a 4 minute movie about it. www.inphase-technologies.com These folks have a disk that can hold up to 17 terabytes. Holographic recording has been around for a while. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Larry Bloomfield, KA6UTC Bloomfield Enterprises, LLC dba: Tech-Notes 1980 25th St. Florence, OR 97439 (541) 902-2424 www.Tech-Notes.TV Stay Tuned for THE Road Show - A Taste of NAB 2005 ----- Original Message -----=20 From: "Cliff Benham" <cliff.benham@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <opendtv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, August 25, 2004 1:32 PM Subject: [opendtv] Blue Ray has competition > > http://www.optware.co.jp/english/what_040823.htm > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: > > - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org > > - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line. > > =20 =20 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org=20 - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
