May I say "I told you so"?

Actually Bert, this was never in doubt. You did not tell us anything, although you did your best to paint Apple as some kind of evil Walled Garden monopolist in all of this.

This is all about the preservation of one of the most powerful oligopolies in the world, propped up by politicians who reap huge benefits from the media between elections, then pay them back with billion$ for campaign ads.

Clearly, the big media companies DO NOT want to change the game - the deal they have with the cable and DBS oligopoly continues to pay huge dividends. Likewise, the cable and DBS industry have no interest in cutting Apple, or Google, in on the lucrative STB rental business. They let Microsoft get it's nose under the tent, but frankly, Microsoft totally screwed up the opportunity.

The duo-oligopoly is tolerant of allowing streaming of the content they control to mobile devices, as long as this requires a subscription for the big screen in the Family Room. The last thing they want is for Apple, Google or anyone else to make it easy to view the limited amount of content THEY DO NOT CONTROL, on that big screen.

And the beat goes on...

Regards
Craig
