IR is sooooooo limiting....

There are MANY ways to control the Mini.

Add internal Bluetooth and you can use a wide ranges of wireless 
keyboards and mice. Or you can add other wireless keyboards by 
plugging the transceiver (Bluetooth or other technology) into the USB 
port.

Then there is the ability to control the Mini from any other computer 
on the network (WiFi or Ethernet.

Apple has created a new platform, and they are encouraging third 
parties to create enhancements for it.

Makes sense to me.
