I live in SW Portland at the 600' elevation above the Portland Zoo, near the
Sylvan bridge. As evening begins its close of light, I can hear a bird that
descends the major scale, one note at a time (not a tonal slide). Playing
it on my piano, it is "G", "E", "C".
I've spent hours listening to all the sounds of my regular visitors (easily
40 species) at Cornell Lab. There are no sound recordings that match.
Neighborhood sounds (raucous outdoor games, for example) preclude my ability
to record this bird. When I do, I will share!
