6:23pm last night (10/9)at Finley NWR Prairie Overlook. Prairie Falcon flew
low across the recent burn sw to ne and disappeared over the mitigation
wetlands or whatever it's called to the ne . First time I've seen a westside
Prairie falcon in October. A lot of raptors pass this spot without lingering .
I stayed for over half an hour last night and would have missed 80% of the
raptors I detected had I stayed only five minutes.
Lots of Meadowlarks. Impressive number of ducks going into the wetland to
the ne of the platform. Lars
