There were more birds at Tierra del Mar today than I've ever seen here before. Hundreds of BROWN PELICANS, HEERMANN'S GULLS, thousands of CALIFORNIA GULLS plus dozens of WESTERN, GLAUCOUS-WINGED, "OLYMPIC", and RING-BILLED. Best was a juvenile FRANKLIN'S GULL (perhaps the same that Max and Sarah found at Pacific City last week). Large numbers of COMMON MURRES were in close, but I only saw a couple of juveniles. There was also a couple of TUFTED PUFFINS and a smattering of PIGEON GUILLEMOTS, MARBLED MURRELETS and RHINOCEROS AUKLETS.
