Hello fellow Oagitm's Clackamas County Technology Services is a 24/7 operation supporting everything in the world with less staff and no budget and everyone expecting 100% uptime. Sound familiar? In the middle of this utopia world of expectations we live in we have found it necessary to schedule one Saturday a month to do preventative maintenance. On these days we do things like storage migration, hardware swap outs, patch upgrading and whatever else we need to do that requires us to take servers down or at least exercise contingency processing procedures for critical systems (Sheriff's Office, 911 Center). This doesn't mean that we bring everything down but there are areas that are affected with service interruption during this process. So my real question is: (finally!) Do you have scheduled maintenance days and what is the frequency? Monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly? Thanks in advance for all your wonderful input!
