Lindows.com offers anti-virus software for its OS
Lindows.com has released VirusSafe, the first anti-virus software for its
Linux-based Lindows operating system. The software is based on Central
Command's Vexira Antivirus for Linux, modified to fit LindowsOS. It also
has a graphical user-interface, to be more user-friendly than Vexira's
command-line interface, and automates the process of downloading new virus
definitions. The software scans hard and floppy disks on a regular basis,
and gives the user the options of repairing, renaming, or deleting suspect
files. It also uses heuristics to detect macro viruses that may not yet
have definitions. The software costs $29 dollars, and comes with one year
of virus-definition updates.
