As some of you know, I am a writer/researcher and archives/records
consultant. However, I'd need to look up the particulars in terms of
inkjet inks, type of paper, etc. The way an item is preserved
depends on the nature of the paper, ink, etc. One common method is
to keep the item encapsulated in a type of plastic available through
archival supplies companies, such as Carr-McLean in Toronto. Carr
McLean has a toll-free number--1-800-268-2123 and a website:

www.carrmclean.ca

Carr McLean sells preservation kits, among other items.

You might also be able to get some guidance through the Canadian
Conservation Institute. I haven't checked their website recently,
but at one point, they had information on how to preserve items
around the home. The website may still be:

www.cci-icc.gc.ca

The McIntosh Gallery (519-661-3181, not open Mondays) has held
Antiques Appraisal Days in the past at the Cherryhill Mall. I
believe they're usually held around April. If you contact the
McIntosh, they'll be able to tell you if there's another one planned.
At these Appraisal Days in the past, there had been a preservation
consultant who answered questions relating to paper preservation.
However, I believe her expertise is more geared to older items, like
books or pamphlets requiring repair.

Hope this helps,

Leith
