OCR is optical character recognition. It will be a separate software. 
Mine is OmniPage (but I have a canon scanner). You basically take each 
column or section and use OmniPage to OCR it which turns the "picture" 
font into true words. Then you paste it in Microsoft Word. You have to 
go over the document because the OCR software doesn't always recognize 
all the letters.
This software is generally bundled with your scanner. Check back to the 
instructions and see.
