Well...the only REAL trick to do this is to wait and get Word 2003!<smirk> As that has new locking features to allow you to lock specific user abilities...such as what can be modified. However, there's no real way to do what you want at this point. If you lock the page, you'd have to provide form fields to enter text. It'll flow to page two...but folks will probably whine about it cos' there are selection/modification limits to text within form fields. About the only thing you can do is make it more difficult. Go into Headers/Footers and dump in a textbox with all your left side header info...and set it to the length of the page. Like a watermark, that'll put the header info into the lower level and make it a bit more difficult for many folks to figure out how to get in there to make changes. Then set your page margins in about 1.5 or 2 inches so they won't type over the info along the left. Now you CAN make it even more difficult. If you don't want the users to get at the header/footer AT ALL...you can capture those commands and insert a MsgBox that says "Sorry, this feature has been removed from this template!" That'll freak them out!<hee, hee> And they won't be able to get into those unless they know how to work around it. But you can lock the code so they can't remove your stuff. Granted, that means having macros that'll cause a warning. So be sure to add a digital signature so they can add you into their trusted sources ONCE and be done with it. You can record a macro to get into the header/footer to see the code for that. While in there...you can type MESSAGE HERE. Then replace the typed test with your code for: MsgBox "Sorry...this feature has been removed!" in the message here area. You'll have to proof it...but that SHOULD be the right spot. I'd have to check it myself to be sure, but it should do it...if you're not familiar with writing your own code. Good luck... Dian D. The letterhead runs down the left side of the page. I have tried what I know, which includes creating a template, but it seems people can still edit a template's information? I've tried creating it as a form with frames, but can't figure out how to allow the end-user to format text, and for it to flow to a next page. How frustrated I do sit right now!!! Thank you for any help y'all can provide.
