It's hard to say regarding the prerequisite. You should be an intermediate
user who can follow basic directions without help. I don't train folks how
to use tables, styles, fields, inserting graphics, copy/paste, page layout
setting, etc. That's Linda's job in her 101, 201 classes. So you you'd need
to know the basics without my help. Granted, I provide help to those who
might be having problems with MY instructions...but if I toss out
instructions that say stuff like: create a style with this and that font and
set the paragraph to whatever....you should know how to do that stuff and
follow these basic directions without feeling overwhelmed. I have refunded
students after lesson one because they came back finding my instructions too
difficult to follow. They SHOULDN'T be if you're an intermediate user. So it
was clear that they didn't know what they were doing yet and needed more
basic instructions!

Don't mean to be rude to new users. But my classes are to teach you how to
become an advanced user. And you can't get there if you don't know Word
fairly well and how to follow instructions and move around the program with
some comfort. Which is why I recommend Linda's two classes to make sure you
already know what she teaches.

If you go to this link: http://www.mousetrax.com/TechCourses.html#samples
you can view one lesson from each course. If they sound confusing...that I
don't explain ENOUGH...or that I move along too quickly...then you need more
training before you attempt to tackle them.

I can't say whether you can take the classes at the same time...that depends
on how well you can learn and how much time you have. I have had students
that have taken all 3 courses at once, but they also didn't finish all the
homework to earn a certificate. It can be a lot to take in
together...particularly the VBA course if you have no previous programming
experience. So...sorry...I can't answer that for you. YOU have to decide
whether you have the time to handle more than one course at a time.

Subject: [mso] Courses, Hey, Dian

Dian please.
I am interested in your Word, Advanced Document Design class. I note that it
requires Word 201 as a prerequisite. Before I say I can 'pass' Word 201 now
and may I take your class, is there anything I can test myself with?
The course description sounds like something I already know (or should!).

I am also interested in your Word, AutoForms/Beginning VBA to learn VBA.
Can/should these two courses be taken concurrently?

Thank you.
