PMFJI... I have also not followed this in detail, but... I know some network people who put Normal.dot in it's own folder and then make access to that folder read only to everyone but them. I's a bit drastic I think but should stop people altering Normal.dot pronto. People with a valid reason to change normal.dot have to contact them. Their reasoning is that even if they make Normal.dot read only they think word will alter this to write stuff away sometimes. Apologies if this is off subject.
